SVVS has an experienced managment team, consisting of a Practice Manager, a Client Service Specialist and two Receptionists. The goal of our management staff is to keep the practice running smoothly so that you and your pet can be served effeciently and effectively.
Practice Manager -----------------------------------------------------------------
Client Service Specialist ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ruth Johnson is our Client Service Specialist. She has been with the practice since 1992. She has a degree in Drafting and Design but came to work at the practice when she was "between" drafting jobs. She liked it so much, she never left! Ruth has two married sons, Eric and Beren. Eric and wife, Jennifer, have two sons, Hunter and Brenden. Beren and wife, Sarah Beth, have two children, daughter, Rachel, and a son, Samuel. She is a very happy and proud grandmother; life after 40 is truly grand!! Ruth shares her life with her best friend and sweetheart, Major Dale Van De Ven, USAF retired. Ruth has a special interest in Animal Behavior and obedience. She has studied and is certified by the Association of Pet Dog Trainers to teach obedience as well as to address some common behavior issues. She also enjoys caring for some of the wildlife. In her spare time, which is very limited, Ruth likes to read, swim and walk her dogs. Also, she and Dale are movie buffs and enjoy riding the curvy roads on their motorcycles. They are very proud to be considered the "leaders" of the motorcycle gang here at SVVS. Ruth and Dale live in Lebanon and share their home with two Rottweilers, Cooper and Carl, one American Pit Bull Terrier, Otis, one Shepherd cross, Olivia (aka the dump dog), a terrier mix, Chester, and a Dachshund Mix, Miss Vivian Leigh, plus 5 cats Arwen, George, Jack, Frankie, and Johnny, and too many other critters to count.
Receptionists ----------------------------------------------------------
Cagney Osborne is a Receptionist at SVVS. She started with us in October 2009. She is very hardworking and dedicated. We are very lucky to have her as part of our team. In her spare time, Cagney enjoys spending time with family and her husband, Eric. They enjoy camping and spending time outdoors. Cagney helps with her family's farm, caring for pigs and chickens, as well as canning homegrown vegetables.
Kim Hurt is the newest member of our SVVS family. We knew she was a keeper when she said she was a Virginia Tech fan! She was a client first, then she became part of our family as a member of the reception staff. Kim is married to her hokie fan husband, Jim and they have two great kids, Lauren and Matthew. Kim stays busy by running with her kids to and from school and sports functions, but in her spare time she enjoys reading and watching those Hokie Birds kick butt!
